Bulog Ensures Rice Stock in Central Java Secure Until End of 2026
Brebes - Perum Bulog has assured that rice stocks in Central Java remain sufficient to fulfil food assistance as well as sales under the Stabilisation of Food Supply and Price (SPHP) programme until the end of 2026.
Sri Muniati, Head of Bulog’s Central Java Regional Office, stated in Brebes on Saturday that around 80% of the 372,362-tonne rice-equivalent stock is already in rice form, while the remainder is still being processed.
“We are still absorbing unmilled rice. The target realised up to 1 May 2026 has reached 200,000 tonnes out of the annual target of 374,000 tonnes.”
While accompanying a visit by Muhammad from the Gerindra faction in the House of Representatives (DPR RI), she noted that around 52% of the annual target had been achieved by the end of April 2026.
According to her, offers of warehouse cooperation are still being accepted, which can be used to optimise absorption.
“Currently, Bulog is also distributing food assistance that has progressed 30% and is targeted to be completed by the end of May 2026,” she said.
Deputy Chair of DPR RI Commission XI, Muhammad Hekal, stated that this visit was an assignment from the Gerindra faction to directly inspect Bulog’s warehouse facilities amid unstable geopolitical conditions.
