The quality is supported by high-quality harvested grain and optimal harvest maturity, according to Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani during a monitoring visit to the UD Gunslep milling partner in Turi Tempel Village, Guntur District, Demak Regency, on Wednesday.

During the visit, Rizal inspected the milling process, the quality of the grain used, and the final rice product. He stated that as Bulog’s managed rice stock increases, the company’s focus is not solely on volume accumulation but also on ensuring the rice is of high quality for extended storage.

To date, Bulog’s grain and rice absorption has reached approximately 3.5 million tonnes, with total national rice stocks managed by the company standing at around 5.4 million tonnes.

Rizal emphasised that quality is the key to managing the Government Rice Reserve. Looking ahead, Bulog will continue to encourage quality improvements among its milling partners as part of preparations for a milling certification programme planned for 2027.

“In line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, Bulog must be present alongside the people by strengthening cooperation and empowering small community-owned mills. They are not just partners, but a vital part of the national food ecosystem. Through quality improvement and the 2027 certification programme, we aim to make these community mills more competitive, add value for farmers, and improve public welfare,” Rizal stated.
