Bulog Distributes Post-Eid Food Aid, Targeting the Thousand Islands
JAKARTA - Perum Bulog has immediately begun distributing food assistance after the public completed celebrations for Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah.
Bulog’s President Director, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, stated that the company is expediting the distribution of food aid in regions with challenging geography, such as the Thousand Islands.
“We ensure that every member of the public, including those in island areas, receives their right to food,” said Rizal, as quoted from his official statement on Friday (27/3/2026).
Rizal added that the distribution is being hastened to ensure the public promptly receives government assistance.
This aid distribution also serves as a government effort to maintain economic stability, particularly in the post-Lebaran period.
In the Thousand Islands region, food assistance is being delivered to 4,102 recipients spread across Untung Jawa Island, Kelapa Island, Harapan Island, and Pramuka Island.
“No area is too remote to reach. BULOG is present to ensure that assistance is delivered on time and to the right targets,” Rizal stated.
In the same statement, a resident of Untung Jawa Island, Sabrina Marsenda, expressed her thanks to the government.
She said it was her first time receiving food assistance from the government.
“Thank you to President Prabowo Subianto for the Bulog rice assistance; it has arrived on Untung Jawa Island,” said Sabrina.
Previously, the National Food Agency (Bapanas) announced that food assistance distribution began in early March 2026.
Bapanas Chief of Staff Sarwo Edhy stated that the agency had issued an assignment letter for the distribution to Bulog on 11 February.
According to the official statement on the Bapanas website, the government has allocated Rp 11.92 trillion for this food assistance programme.
