JAKARTA — Bulog has distributed 65 sacrificial animals to the public as part of its social outreach and sharing blessings during Eid al-Adha 1447 AH/2026 CE. Meeting reporters during the animal slaughter in Jakarta on Friday, Bulog’s CEO Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani stated that the total distributed comprised 39 cattle and 26 goats. “This morning, Friday, 29 May 2026, is part of our Eid al-Adha activities held yesterday. In total, 39 cattle and 26 goats have been distributed across Bulog’s Jakarta operations,” Rizal said. He personally participated in the slaughter at Bulog’s Central Office in Jakarta. He explained that the sacrificial animal distribution is part of Bulog’s ongoing Eid al-Adha activities during the tasyrik days, as part of the company’s social initiatives for the community. Rizal noted that the slaughter activities at Bulog’s central office aim to assist operational support staff such as cleaners, security personnel, drivers, and other employees in need. Bulog views the qurban initiative as an opportunity to strengthen social awareness and unity within the company while directly benefiting local communities and workers. “The purpose is straightforward: several employees here require assistance with sacrificial animals, including office cleaners, security guards, and drivers,” he added. Rizal also stated that the distribution of 65 sacrificial animals was conducted solely by Bulog’s central office in Jakarta, with the total number significantly higher when combined with regional and branch offices across Indonesia. The annual qurban slaughter for this food-sector state-owned enterprise is part of routine activities carried out with employees and their families within Bulog. Rizal interpreted Eid al-Adha 1447 AH/2026 CE as a moment to reinforce values of sincerity, sacrifice, and social compassion in fulfilling the mandate of safeguarding national food security. He stated that sincerity, responsibility, and compassion are expected to collectively strengthen Bulog’s role in ensuring food security for Indonesia’s population. Rizal also highlighted that Eid al-Adha is not only a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail’s exemplary devotion but also a reflection opportunity for all food-sector SOE personnel to strengthen their commitment to serving the nation through food security duties. For Rizal, these values align with Bulog’s mandate to maintain stability, ensure food availability, and deliver benefits to communities nationwide. He further emphasised that the spirit of qurban strongly resonates with Bulog’s role as a state-mandated institution in the food sector. He added that sacrifice, compassion, and social responsibility are foundational for Bulog staff in their work, particularly in ensuring fair, equitable, and sustainable food access for the public. “Beyond worship and obedience to Allah SWT, the qurban ritual symbolises submission, sacrifice, and care for others,” Rizal said. “Through this activity, we aim to embody spiritual values not only in religious practice but also in workplace culture, public service, and corporate commitment to society,” he added.
