BULOG Distributes 500 Rice Packages to Children with Disabilities

In commemoration of National Children’s Day 2026, Perum BULOG distributed food aid through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme, BULOG Peduli Aksi Berbagi. The assistance, comprising 500 packages of premium rice weighing 5 kilograms each, was provided to children with disabilities. The distribution took place at two schools: SLB Negeri 2 and SLB Negeri 11 in the Lenteng Agung area of South Jakarta. This initiative reflects BULOG’s commitment to supporting the fulfilment of food needs while paying special attention to children with special needs.

Marga Taufiq, Vice President Director of Perum BULOG, stated that National Children’s Day serves as an important momentum to strengthen awareness regarding the rights of children, including those with disabilities, who have equal opportunities to grow, learn, and develop optimally. He noted that BULOG not only carries out its mandate to maintain national food security but also continuously strives to deliver tangible social benefits to the community. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Indonesian Disability Institute (INDISI).

“National Children’s Day reminds us that every Indonesian child has equal rights to attention, opportunity, and a better future. Through the BULOG Peduli programme, we want to ensure that BULOG’s presence not only safeguards national food security but also provides real benefits to the community, especially children with disabilities. We hope this assistance can support their food needs while embodying our spirit of mutual cooperation in building a more inclusive Indonesia,” Marga Taufiq said in a written statement on Thursday (23/7/2026).

He explained that through collaboration with various stakeholders, BULOG continues to strengthen the implementation of TJSL programmes oriented towards community empowerment and improving the welfare of vulnerable groups. The company believes that synergy between state-owned enterprises, social institutions, the education sector, and the community forms a crucial foundation for realising inclusive and sustainable development. The event was also attended by the Chairperson of the Indonesian Disability Institute (INDISI) Enita Adyalaksmita, representatives from the school leadership, and featured artistic performances by the students to showcase their talents and creativity.
