Bulog Distributes 350,000 President-Instructed Food Packages to Workers on May Day
Perum Bulog distributed 350,000 food aid packages to workers during the International Labour Day (May Day) commemoration in 2026 at the National Monument (Monas) area in Jakarta on Friday (1/5/2026). Bulog’s President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani personally led the coordination of the aid distribution, which originated from instructions by President Prabowo Subianto.
The event, attended by hundreds of thousands of workers from various regions, also featured government support in the form of food assistance and provisions. Bulog, along with ID Food and DKI’s regional-owned enterprises, prepared 350,000 food aid packages and free lunches, distributed in an organised manner at the location.
“Thanks be to God, since this morning and even since yesterday, we at Bulog, in line with the President’s instructions, have coordinated and prepared 350,000 food aid packages intended for our brothers and fellow workers commemorating International Labour Day,” Rizal said at the site.
The aid distribution was carried out using dozens of Bulog trucks stationed in the Monas area. The distribution process was managed to remain orderly amid the high enthusiasm of participants.
Rizal detailed that the distributed food aid packages contained staple needs such as 2.5 kilograms of premium rice, sugar, cooking oil, sardines, tea, coffee, and other essentials. This assistance is expected to help maintain workers’ purchasing power while supporting the fulfilment of workers’ household food requirements.
“Yes, one of the surprises is this support of 350,000 food aid packages. All the fellow workers who came to Monas also received 350,000 free lunch packages,” said Bulog’s President Director.
Rizal noted that the value of the aid in each food package is estimated at around Rp350,000. The distribution was conducted with a mechanism of inking recipients’ hands to ensure it reached the right targets.
He added that the funding source for the aid comes from the State Secretariat, while Bulog is responsible for preparing and distributing the aid as per the government’s assignment. “We prepared for three days. Thanks be to God, together with ID Food and DKI’s BUMDs, we have maximally prepared support for the workers present at Monas today,” he stated.
The 2026 May Day implementation proceeded safely and orderly. TNI, Police, and other stakeholders maintained conducive conditions, allowing the event to run peacefully without significant incidents.
