Bulog distributes 17,000 tonnes of rice and 3.4 million litres of cooking oil in West Nusa Tenggara
State-owned enterprise Bulog’s West Nusa Tenggara regional office is distributing food aid to 851,131 residents ahead of Nyepi Saka 1948 and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijrah.
“This food aid is allocated for February-March in Mataram City, and subsequent distribution will proceed to all regions in West Nusa Tenggara,” said Rizal P Sukmaadijaya, deputy regional head of Bulog West Nusa Tenggara, when interviewed in Mataram on Friday (13 March 2026).
In total, approximately 851,131 food aid recipients are spread across West Nusa Tenggara. The assistance being distributed comprises 17,000 tonnes of rice and 3.4 million litres of cooking oil.
“As we approach major religious festivals, particularly Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr, we are accelerating the distribution so that residents can receive assistance in obtaining basic supplies, particularly rice and cooking oil,” Sukmaadijaya stated.
Sukmaadijaya noted that each aid recipient will receive approximately 20 kilograms of rice and one packet of cooking oil. “We aim to complete distribution by early April,” he explained.
Lalu Martawang, assistant to the Mataram Regional Secretariat, said the food aid distribution is specifically intended to ease the burden on residents in need.
“We hope this can inspire all of us to celebrate together. Everyone can laugh, smile and feel joy welcoming Eid al-Fitr 2026,” Martawang said.
For context, the rice and cooking oil food aid for Mataram residents targets approximately 46,983 recipients spread across six districts, 50 villages, and 325 neighbourhoods.
