Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog distributed 162 staple food packages to sanitation workers in Jakarta as a form of social concern to help alleviate the needs of the community and support the welfare of field officers.

“This morning, as part of the celebrations for Bulog’s 59th anniversary, which falls on Monday, 11 May 2026, one of the activities is providing food aid packages to sanitation workers in the Bulog environment and surrounding areas,” said Perum Bulog’s President Director, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that the distribution of over a hundred staple food packages to sanitation workers is part of the environmental and social responsibility (TJSL) programme titled Bulog Peduli Aksi Berbagi.

The state-owned food company distributed food commodity aid packages to Individual Other Service Providers (PJLP) in the Kuningan Timur Sub-district, South Jakarta, and Sukabumi Selatan Sub-district, West Jakarta.

Rizal explained that the programme represents Bulog’s concern for public service officers who have long played a role in maintaining cleanliness and comfort in the Jakarta area.

He mentioned that each aid package contains 5 kilograms of premium rice, 1 kilogram of granulated sugar, and 1 litre of cooking oil as support for the food needs of the beneficiaries.

He expressed appreciation and respect for the sanitation workers, whom he considers heroes of the city’s cleanliness.

“I am very pleased to meet the cleanliness heroes who maintain the environmental hygiene in Jakarta and in the Bulog environment,” said Rizal.

“Without them, we cannot imagine what the condition of our city would be. Therefore, it is only right that we give them attention and appreciation,” added Rizal.

“We hope that Bulog will be closer to the people, more professional, more advanced, and continue to provide the best services for the nation and state,” he stated.

Through the Bulog Peduli Aksi Berbagi programme, the company reaffirms its commitment to continue being present to provide real benefits to the community and support sustainable social development.

This programme also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the second goal of Zero Hunger, through efforts to meet the food needs of the community and vulnerable groups.
