Jakarta — Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, Director General of Perum Bulog, inspected the Rice Milling Unit operations owned by PT Sri Tani Berkah in Maros District, South Sulawesi, on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

The working visit was conducted to directly observe the operations of Bulog’s toll-milling partner, which produces rice for the Food Assistance Programme and rice for the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation Programme (SPHP).

During the visit, Ramdhani was accompanied by Fahrurozi, Regional Leader of Bulog’s South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Regional Office, Faris Sudirman, Head of the Makassar Branch Office, Agung Yuhono, Commander of Maros Military District Command, and the management team of PT Sri Tani Berkah.

On this occasion, Ramdhani also encouraged technological innovation in the rice processing process, particularly the utilisation of rice husks to prevent waste.

He proposed that rice husks could be processed into charcoal or other derivative products with economic value, thereby providing additional benefits to farmers and rice milling business operators.

“Bulog encourages the use of technology so that all by-products from the rice milling process can be utilised optimally,” said Ramdhani in a written statement on Monday, 2 March 2026.

According to him, the innovation in rice husk utilisation is expected to be developed in South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi as an initial step to increase efficiency whilst creating added value in the rice processing sector.

Through this visit, Bulog also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with rice milling partners to ensure the quality of rice production and support the implementation of government programmes in the food sector.
