Bulog Denies Its CEO Serves as Head of TNI's BAIS: Hoax

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The state-owned enterprise, Perum Bulog, has denied that its president director, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, holds the position of Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

The position of BAIS Head is currently under spotlight because Lieutenant General TNI Yudi Abrimantyo resigned following the acid attack case on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus.

Bulog’s Head of Public Relations, Tomi Wijaya, stated that the circulating information claiming Rizal serves as Head of BAIS TNI is a hoax.

Ramdhani is indeed a retired high-ranking TNI Army officer with the rank of Major General.

Before being assigned as Bulog’s President Director and leaving his military career, Rizal had served in the fields of intelligence; engineering or the Army’s construction, destruction, and obstacles corps; law, and food.

“In accordance with statutory regulations, he has resigned when appointed as Bulog’s President Director and is now a TNI retiree,” Tomi emphasised.

He warned the public not to be swayed by unverified circulating information.

As is known, Yudi relinquished his position as Head of BAIS TNI after four of its members were suspected of attacking Andrie with acid.

The TNI has announced the identities of the four BAIS members as Captain NDP, Second Lieutenant SL, Second Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant ES.

The four intelligence personnel have been designated as suspects and are being handled by the TNI Military Police (POM).
