Denpasar (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog Finance Director Hendra Susanto has directly inspected the readiness of rice stocks for the government’s food aid programme in Bali. Hendra stated in Denpasar on Thursday that the food aid programme is a strategic government initiative aimed at maintaining food security while strengthening public purchasing power. “Therefore, stock readiness, rice quality and smooth distribution are priorities that must be ensured by all Bulog personnel,” he said. The rice stock in Bali is sufficient to support the distribution of food aid for the July 2026 allocation. Based on Bulog’s monitoring, the current stock of Public Service Obligation Government Rice Reserves (CBP) held by Bulog Bali amounts to 11,464,157 kg. The visit was centred at the Sempidi Warehouse Complex in Badung Regency, one of the government’s rice storage centres in Bali. The warehouse inspection was conducted thoroughly, covering the condition of the warehouse, rice quality, stock adequacy, implementation of storage standards, and readiness of distribution facilities and infrastructure. “This step is a form of Perum Bulog’s commitment to ensuring that food aid can be distributed to beneficiary communities on time, on target, and with maintained rice quality,” Hendra said. He further emphasised that all regional units must ensure every stage of the food aid distribution runs according to operational standards so that the public receives rice of the best quality. Following the central inspection, Perum Bulog Regional Leader for Bali, Simon Melkisedek Lakapu, conveyed that the CBP stock held by the Bali regional office is currently in a safe condition and sufficient to meet the needs of the July 2026 food aid distribution and other government programmes. “We have carried out various preparatory steps, from ensuring rice quality and distribution fleet readiness to intensive coordination with local governments and related agencies,” he said. “The PSO stock we currently hold is around 11 million tonnes for Bali Province; with this readiness, we are optimistic that distribution will run smoothly according to the schedule set by the government,” Simon added. For Bulog Bali, the central director’s visit not only ensured stock readiness but also served as a momentum to strengthen all personnel to maintain good warehouse governance, improve public service quality, and enhance synergy with all stakeholders in maintaining regional food stability. Simon affirmed the commitment to supporting government policies in maintaining national food security through professional, accountable and sustainable management of the Government Rice Reserves. “With adequate stock and an optimally prepared distribution system, the people of Bali are expected to receive food aid on time so that the benefits of the programme can be felt maximally,” he concluded.
