Bulog Cirebon Absorbs 257,832 Tonnes of Unmilled Rice from Farmers as of 23 July 2026

Perum Bulog’s Cirebon branch in West Java has absorbed 257,832 tonnes of dry harvested grain (GKP) as of 23 July 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the government’s rice reserves (CBP) and maintain food stability within its operational area. The head of Perum Bulog Cirebon, Imam Mahdi, stated that this absorption is equivalent to 133,017 tonnes of rice, managed after purchasing the harvest from farmers in the Cirebon, Majalengka, and Kuningan (Cimajakuning) regions. He explained that the absorption originates from farmers’ grain purchased in accordance with the government purchasing price (HPP) to support the national food stock strengthening programme. Imam noted that the total CBP currently stored in the Bulog Cirebon warehouse has reached 213,125 tonnes, a crucial asset for maintaining rice availability for various community needs. He added that farmers wishing to sell their grain to Bulog can utilise a collection service provided to facilitate the absorption process. This service is expected to help farmers secure market certainty while keeping grain prices aligned with government policy. Bulog continues to manage stocks optimally to ensure adequate rice supplies, with Imam confirming that the current CBP stock is secure to meet demand through to next year’s Lebaran.
