Bulog Chief Executive Urges Innovation in Economically Valuable Rice Husk Utilisation

Jakarta — Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, Director-General of Perum Bulog, is advocating for innovation in rice husk utilisation to create economic value and provide additional benefits to farmers and rice milling industries.

“Rice husks, which have historically often been discarded, can be processed into charcoal or economically valuable products, thereby providing additional benefits to farmers and rice milling industries,” Ramdhani said in confirmation in Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, rice husks have not been optimally utilised to date, despite possessing significant potential for processing into economically valuable derivative products.

He proposed transforming rice husks into charcoal or other products with market demand, thereby increasing both efficiency and income for industry operators.

According to Ramdhani, this innovative approach is important for creating a sustainable and environmentally friendly rice processing system through optimisation of all by-products from production.

Processing technology utilisation is the key to ensuring rice husks are not wasted but rather processed in a modern manner with quality standards that support market requirements.

Ramdhani stressed that such innovation can serve as a model for developing a more productive rice milling industry whilst creating added value.
