Bulog Bengkulu Surpasses Grain Absorption Target by 127 Percent

Perum Bulog’s Bengkulu Regional Office absorbed 4,069 tonnes of grain and rice during the first planting season of 2026, achieving 127 percent of the national target set for the province, which was 3,185 tonnes. Dody Syahrial, Head of the Bulog Regional Office in Bengkulu, stated on Wednesday that the achievement was the result of synergy between Bulog, local government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police, technical agencies, and agricultural extension workers. He noted that agricultural extension workers played a crucial role in providing information about harvest potential and developments, enabling Bulog to carry out absorption quickly and accurately. Dody emphasised that this collaboration must continue to be strengthened ahead of the second planting season of 2026 to ensure that farmers’ harvests can be absorbed optimally. He added that the absorption efforts are not only aimed at maintaining farmer welfare but also at strengthening the Government Rice Reserves and maintaining supply and price stability. Bulog is committed to continuing to absorb farmers’ harvests in accordance with government regulations. Dody expressed optimism that absorption during the second planting season of 2026 could be even more optimal through collaboration with local governments, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police, Bank Indonesia, technical agencies, agricultural extension workers, and other partners.
