Perum Bulog’s Banyumas branch has begun distributing government food aid for the July-September 2026 period to designated beneficiaries in the Banyumas Raya area. The distribution is being carried out in stages across four regencies: Banyumas, Cilacap, Purbalingga, and Banjarnegara.

Prawoko Setyo Aji, Head of Perum Bulog’s Banyumas Branch Office, stated that the aid targets 886,305 Beneficiaries of Food Aid (PBP) in the region, with a total of 26,589,150 kilograms of rice prepared for the three-month period. Each beneficiary is entitled to receive 10 kilograms of rice per month.

“This food aid is part of the government’s effort to maintain food security and help ease the burden on the community in meeting their basic needs,” he said in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Thursday.

The initial distribution for the July-September period was symbolically launched at the Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) in Karangwangkal, North Purwokerto District. Prawoko noted that the aid is specifically targeted and not distributed universally, ensuring it reaches those registered as beneficiaries according to applicable regulations.

He also reminded the public that the rice aid is provided free of charge by the government and must not be resold. The programme is expected to help reduce the burden of household expenses, particularly for rice, which remains a staple food concern for many families.
