Bulog Bali Records 12,000-Tonne Rice Stockpile, Sufficient Until 2027
Denpasar (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog’s Bali Regional Office has recorded rice stocks currently under its control at 12,000 tonnes, sufficient to cover needs for the next 10 months or until May 2027.
“As of 30 July 2026, operational stocks were recorded at 12,325 tonnes, with stock resilience estimated to be sufficient for needs over the next 10 months,” said Simon Melkisedek Lakapu, Head of Bulog Bali, in Denpasar on Thursday.
Simon said these rice stocks are guaranteed to be sufficient, including for meeting a number of government programmes, such as the distribution of food aid allocated for July-September 2026 for beneficiary communities.
In addition, based on trends in public demand, the stock is enough for the distribution of Food Supply and Price Stabilisation (SPHP) rice in order to maintain price stability and ensure rice availability in the market.
“This step is part of Bulog Bali’s commitment to safeguarding food security, supporting farmers’ welfare, and ensuring rice availability for the people of Bali Province,” he said.
As recorded up to 30 July 2026, Perum Bulog Bali noted rice-equivalent procurement realisation had reached 6,312.1 tonnes, or 166.7 per cent of the government’s procurement target of 3,786 tonnes.
This achievement reflects the strong absorption of local Balinese farmers’ harvests while reinforcing the government’s rice reserve stocks in the Bali region.
Although food aid rice and SPHP rice stocks are declared secure until 2027, Simon assured that his office will continue to work in synergy with regional governments, the TNI-Polri, working partners, and all stakeholders to strengthen food security in Bali Province.
“Through strengthening government rice reserves and the continued absorption of farmers’ harvests, we are committed to ensuring that the people have access to food that is sufficient, safe, and affordable,” he said.
