Bulog awaits Ministry of Trade decision on 100 per cent Minyakita DMO

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog is awaiting a decision from the Ministry of Trade regarding a proposal to increase the distribution portion of Minyakita through food-related State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to 100 per cent of the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) realisation.

The President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, stated that the proposal to increase this portion has been submitted in writing to the Minister of Trade.

“We have submitted a written request to the Minister of Trade for the increase of the DMO for SOEs,” said Rizal following an inspection of market operations at Jatinegara Market, Jakarta, on Saturday.

Rizal noted that Bulog is proposing the increase in the distribution portion to 100 per cent in accordance with the directives from the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman.

According to Rizal, the proposed increase in the distribution portion through food SOEs is intended to strengthen the availability of Minyakita in the market.

However, the decision regarding the change in the distribution portion remains with the government, specifically the Ministry of Trade.

“We are simply waiting for the policy from the government, particularly the Ministry of Trade, so that the DMO for Minyakita, specifically for SOEs, can be increased to guarantee the availability of Minyakita in the national market,” he added.
