Bulog and House of Representatives Monitor Food Aid Distribution in Jakarta
Perum Bulog for the Jakarta and Banten regions has committed to overseeing the distribution of food aid for the July-September period in Jakarta by conducting continuous reviews alongside relevant policymakers.
“Perum Bulog continues to support the implementation of the food aid programme and is committed to monitoring the distribution process to ensure it proceeds in an orderly manner and in accordance with government assignments,” said Hardian Dendar Dinamente, Deputy Regional Head for Jakarta and Banten, while accompanying member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ida Fauziyah, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He emphasised that Perum Bulog remains committed to supporting the food aid programme and ensuring the distribution process adheres to established regulations. He added that coordination with local governments and all stakeholders is ongoing to ensure that aid is received by the community according to the allocated amounts.
Hardian Dendar Dinata explained that the food aid allocation for July, August, and September 2024 is part of a government programme designed to help meet the food needs of the public. “Perum BULOG plays a role in supporting the provision and distribution of aid in accordance with the assigned mandate,” he said.
He noted that through this monitoring activity, the synergy between the DPR RI, Perum BULOG, local governments, and regional authorities is expected to strengthen. “Direct field supervision is also a vital part of ensuring the programme runs in an orderly, coordinated manner and provides benefits to the recipient communities,” he added.
He stated that the Perum Bulog Regional Office for Jakarta and Banten will continue to oversee and coordinate the implementation of food aid distribution. According to him, this serves as a form of support for the government’s programme in maintaining food security and assisting the public in meeting their nutritional needs. “Bulog, together with the government, is monitoring food aid for the community,” he said.
Meanwhile, member of the DPR RI Ida Fauziyah stated that this meeting and monitoring effort is part of the endeavour to ensure that the food aid distribution process follows regulations and reaches the intended beneficiaries. Ida Fauziyah personally inspected the food aid distribution process at the Pegangsaan Village Office, Menteng District, Central Jakarta.
The monitoring was conducted to observe field distribution, including the readiness of the distribution process and the receipt of aid by the community. She noted that the monitoring activity also serves as a momentum to strengthen coordination between the DPR RI and Perum BULOG in supporting government programmes in the food sector.
“Through direct monitoring, various conditions and programme implementations at the community level can be identified, serving as material for evaluation and oversight,” she said.
