BULOG and House Commission VI Ensure Food Aid Distribution in Makassar
State logistics agency Perum BULOG, together with House of Representatives Commission VI, carried out the distribution of Rice Food Aid at the KDKMP in Untia Subdistrict, Biringkanaya District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. The activity was conducted to ensure the Food Aid programme reaches the public and to encourage the role of the Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives (KDKMP) as part of the government’s food distribution ecosystem.
For South Sulawesi Province, Food Aid has been allocated to 948,089 Food Aid Beneficiaries (PBP) with a total of 28,442,670 kilograms of rice. The assistance covers a three-month allocation, namely July, August, and September 2026. In Makassar City, there are 89,231 PBP with a total rice allocation of 2,676,930 kilograms. Specifically in Untia Subdistrict, distribution targets 262 PBP with a total of 7,860 kilograms of rice. Each PBP receives 10 kilograms of rice for each monthly allocation, so the total assistance received by each PBP during the July to September 2026 period amounts to 30 kilograms of rice.
Deputy Chairman of House Commission VI Nurdin Halid appreciated BULOG’s role in managing the Government Rice Reserve (CBP). He expressed hope for collaboration with KDKMP in supporting various government programmes. “BULOG’s function is currently extraordinary. By managing a very large CBP stock of 5 million tonnes, it is guaranteed that no Indonesian will go hungry until next year. BULOG is now a strategic partner of KDKMP in distributing government assistance,” Nurdin said in his statement on Friday (28/8/2026).
Meanwhile, Perum BULOG Marketing Director Rahmanto Amin Jatmiko emphasised that BULOG continues to ensure stock availability and smooth rice distribution so that various government programmes can run well and provide benefits to the public. “We hope the implementation of the Food Aid Programme in South Sulawesi, especially in Makassar City, can take place in an orderly, transparent, and well-targeted manner, and provide real benefits to the community. This programme is not merely about distributing rice, but is a manifestation of the state’s presence in meeting the people’s food needs and strengthening food security,” Rahmanto said.
In supporting various government food programmes, BULOG also ensures stock readiness across all regions of Indonesia. Currently, the rice stock managed by BULOG nationally reaches approximately 5.1 million tonnes. The stock managed by Perum BULOG’s South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Regional Office reaches approximately 859 thousand tonnes.
Rahmanto stated that strong stock availability, supported by a distribution network and collaboration with various stakeholders, is an important asset for BULOG in carrying out government assignments. Through synergy with the government, the House of Representatives, regional governments, KDKMP, and all related parties, Perum BULOG will continue to maintain the smooth distribution of Food Aid and ensure that programme benefits are received by the public as targeted.
These efforts are also part of BULOG’s role in maintaining food availability and affordability as well as supporting the strengthening of a national food ecosystem that is increasingly closer to the public.
The activity was attended by Deputy Chairman of House Commission VI Nurdin Halid and Perum BULOG Marketing Director Rahmanto Amin Jatmiko, along with relevant officials. The presence of stakeholders was part of efforts to ensure the Food Aid programme runs optimally until it is received by the public.
