Karawang, West Java — Perum Bulog, in collaboration with the National Food Agency (Bapanas), has distributed 181,186,530 kilograms, or more than 181,000 tonnes, of rice to 6,039,551 food assistance beneficiaries (PBP) in West Java for the July to September 2026 allocation.

The Head of Bapanas, who also serves as the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, stated that the government continues to strengthen collaboration across ministries and agencies to ensure that food assistance truly reaches the entitled members of the public.

“The data for food assistance recipients comes from the Ministry of Social Affairs. Our task is to ensure that the assistance allocated by the government actually reaches the people in need,” the Minister said in Karawang on Monday.

He made these remarks during the distribution of food assistance to beneficiaries in Sindangsari Village, Karawang Regency. The President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, accompanied the Head of Bapanas during the event.

Amran noted that distribution down to the village level is a vital component in ensuring that the presence of the government can be felt directly by the community. Perum Bulog and Bapanas are continuing to accelerate the distribution of the July–September rice assistance allocation throughout Indonesia, including the West Java region.

Meanwhile, Karawang has become one of the regencies with a significant number of recipients in West Java. A total of 249,725 beneficiaries in the regency received rice assistance, with a total allocation reaching 7,491,750 kilograms, or approximately 7,491 tonnes, distributed gradually to the recipients.
