BULOG has responded to various concerns raised by sugarcane farmers in Blora Regency regarding PT Gendhis Multi Manis (GMM)‘s operations. Several measures have been taken to improve governance and enhance the sugar mill’s operational performance to safeguard farmers’ interests.

BULOG’s Public Relations Division Head Tomi Wijaya affirmed that the agency is committed to listening to farmers’ concerns and implementing necessary improvements to support the sustainability of the national sugar industry.

“Every piece of feedback from farmers is taken seriously. The various improvement measures implemented reflect BULOG’s commitment to ensuring better company operations and delivering optimal benefits to sugarcane farmers and all stakeholders,” he stated in a written release on Monday (1/6/2026).

As part of the rectification efforts, BULOG has proposed a new management structure for PT GMM. This step responds to feedback and expectations from sugarcane farmers for more effective, professional management focused on improving service to farmers.

The leadership change is expected to strengthen operational coordination, accelerate decision-making, and foster better relations between the company and farmers as key partners in the sugar ecosystem.

In addition to management reforms, BULOG has submitted a proposal to upgrade PT GMM’s boiler machinery to shareholders through established procedural channels. This move aims to enhance production facility reliability, ensuring smooth crushing operations and optimising plant performance.

BULOG recognises that optimal sugar mill operations are crucial for ensuring smooth collection and processing of farmers’ sugarcane. Therefore, incremental improvements are being made while adhering to sound corporate governance and applicable regulations.

BULOG will also continue engaging and coordinating with all relevant parties to ensure effective implementation of improvements while maintaining a healthy, productive, and sustainable national sugar industry.
