Bulog accelerates food aid distribution in Gorontalo

State logistics company Perum Bulog is accelerating the distribution of food aid in Gorontalo Province as a tangible demonstration of the state’s presence in helping to meet the basic needs of the community. “Food aid is one of the President’s priority programmes which has received significant government attention to help fulfil the food needs of the Indonesian people,” said Perum Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani in Jakarta on Thursday. He stressed that the food aid programme is one of the government’s instruments to maintain food affordability amid price dynamics in various regions. According to him, Bulog continues to optimise stock readiness, warehouse networks and distribution support so that delivery can proceed on time and reach all recipients. “Coordination with regional governments, local authorities and related parties is also continuously strengthened to ensure every stage runs effectively and accountably,” he said. He added that during the food aid distribution activity in Tabongo Timur Village, Tabongo District, Bulog distributed a two-month allocation at once to 745 food aid recipients. Each recipient received a total of 20 kilogrammes of rice and four litres of cooking oil to help meet the family’s basic needs. The rice and cooking oil assistance is considered to provide direct benefits in easing household expenditure, while maintaining family access to essential food items. As of 18 June 2026, the realisation of food aid distribution across Gorontalo Province has reached more than 85 percent of the total 170,000 food aid recipients. Distribution will continue in stages until all recipients receive aid in accordance with the allocation and established provisions. Through synergy with the Gorontalo Provincial Government, district and city governments, local authorities and all related parties, Bulog is committed to carrying out the government’s assignment in an orderly, measured and accountable manner. This acceleration of distribution is expected not only to provide direct benefits to the community, but also to strengthen Bulog’s role in maintaining national food availability, affordability and stability.
