Bulog accelerates food aid distribution in Gorontalo

Food assistance is one of the President’s priority programmes, receiving significant government attention to help meet the food needs of the Indonesian people.

Perum Bulog is accelerating the distribution of food aid in Gorontalo Province as a tangible manifestation of the state’s presence in helping to meet the basic needs of the community.

“Food assistance is one of the President’s priority programmes, receiving great attention from the government to help meet the food needs of the Indonesian people,” said the President Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.

He emphasised that the food assistance programme serves as one of the government’s instruments to maintain food affordability amidst price dynamics in various regions.

According to him, Bulog continues to optimise stock readiness, warehousing networks, and distribution support to ensure that distribution can proceed on time and reach all recipients.

“Coordination with local governments, local authorities, and relevant parties is also being strengthened to ensure every stage is effective and accountable,” he said.

He added that during the food aid distribution activity in Tabongo Timur Village, Tabongo District, Bulog distributed a two-month allocation simultaneously to 745 food aid recipients. Each recipient received a total of 20 kilograms of rice and four litres of cooking oil to help meet basic family needs.

The rice and cooking oil assistance is considered to provide direct benefits in reducing household expenditures, while simultaneously maintaining family access to essential food ingredients.

As of 18 June 2026, the realisation of food aid distribution throughout Gorontalo Province has reached more than 85 per cent of the total 170,000 food aid recipients. Distribution will continue gradually until all recipients receive assistance according to the established allocation and regulations.

Through synergy with the Gorontalo Provincial Government, regency and municipal governments, local authorities, and all relevant parties, Bulog is committed to executing government assignments in an orderly, measurable, and accountable manner.

This acceleration in distribution is expected not only to provide direct benefits to the community but also to strengthen Bulog’s role in maintaining national food availability, affordability, and stability.
