JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — PT Hartadinata Abadi Tbk (HRTA), a jewellery and gold bar company, is aggressively strengthening its bullion business amid high public demand for safe-haven assets. The firm reported a significant performance surge in Q1 2026, driven by increased pure gold sales volume and rising global gold prices.

According to a public disclosure cited from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, HRTA’s sales for Q1 2026 reached Rp20.16 trillion, a 196.96% year-on-year increase.

The company views its position as increasingly strategic within the national gold industry ecosystem, particularly following government efforts to bolster bullion banks and develop domestic gold infrastructure. HRTA has an integrated business chain from raw material procurement, refining, distribution, to custodian services and connections with bullion banks. Its supply sources include local miners, recyclers, and strategic imports.

“Hartadinata is well-positioned to become a trusted domestic gold supplier for bullion banks,” the management stated in the disclosure.

Additionally, the company operates an integrated refinery facility with a purification capacity of up to 30 tonnes of gold at 99.99% purity.

HRTA noted a shift in consumer behaviour since the Covid-19 pandemic, with demand moving from jewellery to investment-grade gold bars. This trend is reflected in the company’s growing market share in gold bars over recent years. In Q1 2026, gold bar sales totalled 7.74 tonnes with a 32.82% market share. Conversely, jewellery sales remained modest, at just 0.09 tonnes with a 2.73% market share, down from 1.34 tonnes and 8.05% in 2025.
