Buleleng Regency Strengthens Cross-Sector Synergy for 2026 School HPV Immunisation Success
The Buleleng Regency Government (Pemkab) remains committed to improving public health standards, particularly for the younger generation, by strengthening cross-sector synergy. This strategic step is being taken to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the 2026 School Children’s Immunisation Month (BIAS) for Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The strengthening of coordination involves various relevant agencies, from the Health Office, the Education, Youth and Sports Office, to government ranks at the sub-district and village levels. This synergy is considered crucial given that the target for HPV immunisation is elementary school female students, requiring an educational approach and massive outreach to parents. HPV immunisation is a highly effective preventive measure to protect girls from the risk of cervical cancer in the future. The Buleleng Regency Government views this programme as a long-term investment in creating healthy and high-quality human resources. Through the 2026 BIAS HPV programme, the regional government seeks to provide protection as early as possible. With high immunisation coverage, it is hoped that the number of cervical cancer cases in the Buleleng region can be significantly reduced in the coming decades. The Buleleng Regency Government emphasised that the success of BIAS HPV 2026 is not solely the responsibility of the health sector, but a shared responsibility. Support from community and religious leaders is also expected to minimise social barriers or doubts among the public regarding this vaccination programme. With thorough preparation and solid collaboration, the Buleleng Regency Government is optimistic it can achieve the national target and position the region as proactive in preventing infectious diseases and cancer through well-planned immunisation programmes.
