Buleleng Man Stabbed in Neck and Waist While Collecting Rp 2 Million Debt
A man named Gede Asta Pramana, 32, was stabbed, leaving him with wounds to his neck and waist. The stabbing occurred when Pramana attempted to collect a debt from the suspect, Kadek Roni Indrawan, 28, in front of the Serbaguna Hall in Banjar Dinas Kanginan, Les Village, Tejakula District, Buleleng, Bali. The Head of Public Relations for the Buleleng Police, Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz, stated that the alleged assault took place around 10.30 p.m. on Friday, 17 July. According to her, the victim and the suspect, both residents of Les Village, had initially agreed to meet to resolve the debt issue. The victim arrived to receive repayment of a loan amounting to Rp 2 million. During the meeting, an argument broke out, triggered by the victim’s remarks, leading to a misunderstanding. As the situation escalated, the suspect’s father attempted to strike Pramana but missed. Witnessing this, the suspect then grabbed a knife that he had prepared and concealed in his trousers. The suspect stabbed the victim several times, causing stab wounds to the front of the neck, the left elbow, and the right side of the waist. Pramana suffered serious injuries and was immediately taken by residents to the Tejakula I Community Health Centre. He was later referred to Buleleng General Hospital for further medical treatment. In addition to apprehending the suspect, police seized a stainless steel knife approximately 30 centimetres long and a black Honda PCX motorcycle used by the suspect. The case is currently being handled by the Tejakula Police. The police spokesperson confirmed that the victim has filed a report regarding the alleged assault. Officers have processed the crime scene, examined witnesses, and conducted a medical examination of the victim. The suspect is being processed under the applicable legal provisions, with the case classified as a criminal act of assault causing injury as stipulated in Article 466 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
