Bukit Asam to Distribute IDR 1.3 Trillion Dividend, Equivalent to IDR 114 per Share
The Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) has approved a dividend payout ratio of 45% from the company’s 2025 net profit, amounting to IDR 1.32 trillion. Consequently, investors will receive a dividend equivalent to IDR 114 per share. This figure indicates a dividend yield of 4.33% based on PTBA’s closing share price of IDR 2,630 per share on Thursday (11/6). The dividend amount has declined in terms of nominal value, payout ratio, and indicative yield. Last year, PTBA distributed a dividend equal to 75% of profits, or IDR 332 per share, with a yield of 11.27%. The shareholders’ meeting also decided to allocate 55% of the 2025 net profit, or IDR 1.61 trillion, as retained earnings. PTBA reported a net profit of IDR 2.93 trillion for the 2025 financial year, a significant drop attributed to the slump in global coal selling prices. Arsal Ismail, PTBA’s CEO, stated that 2025 was a challenging period for the global coal industry. He noted that the Newcastle coal benchmark price index fell sharply by 25%, while the Indonesian Coal Index (ICI), a reference for the company, also corrected by 16% year-on-year. Arsal added that this led to a decline in the company’s average selling price. Besides the pressure on selling prices, Arsal also highlighted a 5% increase in the company’s cost of revenue. The cost increase was driven by operational expenses and higher fuel costs resulting from the implementation of the B40 energy mix policy and energy price adjustments. Despite these challenges, PTBA maintained solid operational performance, with production volume increasing by 9% to 47.2 million tonnes. Sales volume also grew by 6% to 45.4 million tonnes, supported by an increase in coal haulage from 38.2 million tonnes in 2024 to 40.4 million tonnes in 2025.
