Buildings That Ignore the Surat Laik Fungsi (SLF) Permit in Jakarta Will Be Sealed
Buildings can be used because they have or meet safety, comfort, health, and other requirements, according to Vera Revina Sari, head of the Jakarta DKI Citata service, cited by Antara on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. She emphasised that every building must pass two licensing stages, namely Persetujuan Bangunan Gedung (PBG) and SLF, because safety is a crucial element for mitigating potential disasters. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government will not hesitate to take repressive action against violators. “Warning letters 1, 2, 3, temporary stoppage, then permanent stoppage,” Vera said.
23 Buildings Allegedly Do Not Have SLF
Meanwhile, Fuadi Luthfi, Deputy Chairman of the Special Committee (Pansus) on Parking Management of the Jakarta DPRD, said there are violations by 23 building and parking operators who do not possess SLF.
“We have conveyed to the Head of Dinas Citata that we must take a firm stance. In the form of SP1 and SP2 until the sealing of the building is processed,” Fuadi said.
Fuadi noted that many building owners still ignore the SLF as part of bureaucratic formalities. He added that the document is closely related to public safety guarantees and disaster mitigation, such as fires or building collapses.
Fuadi also mentioned that in the Terra Drone Building fire incident some time ago, it was proven that the SLF permit had expired. Therefore, he asked Dinas Citata to issue SP1 against owners who have not renewed or obtained SLF.
Fuadi also urged Dinas Citata Jakarta to build a real-time monitoring system to map precisely the number of buildings without SLF permits and identify abandoned buildings no longer in operation.
