Building Subsidised Housing, Perumnas Secures Land and Financing Issues
Perum Perumnas, as a state-owned housing development enterprise, remains vigilant about the impact of rising material and land prices on the construction of housing for the public, including for low-income communities. Plt President Director of Perum Perumnas, Imelda Alini Pohan, stated that to ensure business continuity amidst uncertainty, Perumnas is utilising its supply chain ecosystem through direct cooperation with major suppliers and strengthening partnerships with property sector players while maintaining margins. In maintaining efficiency, Perumnas is also utilising design-related technology to help reduce operational costs. Regarding land, Perumnas owns around 2,000 hectares across Indonesia, but many plots are occupied by illegal occupants and must be cleared. On the financing side, Perum Perumnas is supported by state financing but still requires partnerships to obtain private funding, including from foreign investors.
