Building owners told to decorate

The Jakarta chapter of the organizing committee for the
commemoration of the 49th Indonesian Independence are urging
government agencies and private companies to decorate their
offices for the national holiday.

Kenna Tarigan, a spokesman for the publication team of the
committee, said yesterday that the committee had sent circulars
urging government offices, private companies and households to
raise the red and white national flag each morning for five days
beginning Aug. 14.

Private companies, said Kenna, have also been asked to hold
entertaining activities for their employees to glorify
independence day. (arf)
