Building of pavilion halted

TANGERANG, West Java (JP): The local administration has ordered the developer constructing Tangerang General Hospital's pavilion to temporarily halt activities until it has secured the necessary building permit.

The administration's spokesman, Nurhayat Satjadipura, said yesterday that the city planning agency issued a second warning to the developer a few days ago. It implicitly orders it to stop construction until it complies with the permit order.

"If the developer ignores the warning again, we will not hesitate to demolish the half-completed building," he said.

Nurhayat explained that the action was part of the activities being carried out in connection with National Discipline Week.

The National Discipline Movement was launched nationwide by President Soeharto last year. (18/bas)
