Building Infrastructure to Prosper Rural Communities (Part 1)

Referring to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in March 2025, the rural poverty rate is at 11.03%, twice that of the urban poverty rate recorded at 6.73%. This figure indicates the existence of disparities, one of which is in the field of infrastructure development. Therefore, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is rolling out the Regional Social Economic Infrastructure Development Programme, or known as PISEW. With a labour-intensive development model, PISEW directly involves rural communities from planning to execution.
