Building Digital Talent from Eastern Indonesia, Upbit Indonesia Strengthens Blockchain and Web3 Education

The development of blockchain and Web3 technology is opening new opportunities for Indonesian digital talent, as the utilisation of this technology expands across various sectors. Consequently, the need for human resources with an understanding of blockchain, digital assets, and decentralised technology continues to increase. Chief Executive Officer of Upbit Indonesia, Resna Raniadi, stated that this situation shows that digital talent development is no longer just an industry need, but also a crucial investment in preparing Indonesia’s competitiveness in the digital economy era. “Seeing this great potential, equal access to education is becoming increasingly important. The potential for digital talent is not only in big cities but is also spread across various regions in Indonesia,” Resna said in a statement on Saturday, 4 July 2026. In relation to this, Upbit Indonesia, together with BlockDevId, organised a Financial Literacy and Blockchain Technology Seminar and a Smart Contract Development Workshop at the State Islamic University A.M. Sangadji in Ambon. At the event, Resna said that Indonesia has great potential to become a key player in the region’s digital economy. However, this potential needs to be supported by talent who understand blockchain technology and can adapt to industry developments. Therefore, Resna stated that the company believes education must be accessible more evenly, including to students in various regions across Indonesia. Before investing, it is important to understand that crypto assets are investment instruments that carry both opportunities and risks. “Good investment decisions always start with sufficient understanding, not just following trends or viral information,” he said. According to Resna, there is still a common perception that the blockchain industry only needs developers. In fact, as the digital asset ecosystem matures, the need for talent is becoming increasingly diverse. “These range from compliance, risk management, and cybersecurity to business analysts, digital marketing, and community development,” Resna said. As part of the series of activities, Upbit Indonesia and BlockDevId also held a smart contract development workshop. Through this session, participants gained hands-on practical experience, from understanding blockchain concepts and creating a Web3 wallet to developing simple applications based on smart contracts using Solidity.
