Build national spirit

Being Indonesia is choosing a long and difficult way. But that is what the founding fathers chose, making the pluralist country of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

It is not easy to maintain this national concept and spirit. It is much easier to arouse primitive enthusiasm than national spirit.

One threat is religious conflict, which is rooted in faith and belief. The conflict would become more serious if it was also triggered by political interests, such as establishing one's own country.

From this perspective, we look at the meaning of Vice President Hamzah Haz' visit to Ambon.

Yet, it is a tour showing that the Vice President belongs to everyone in the nation of all religions. In Ambon, he held a dialog with Muslims and Christians, as well as giving assistance to mosques and churches.

The spectacular thing is that Laskar Jihad turned over thousands of weapons to Hamzah Haz. On the other hand, the Vice President demanded that the regional military command crush the Republic of South Maluku separatist movement.

After the government strengthens the organizational structure of the civil emergency authority, all forms of conflict and violations should end.

To this point, the Vice President's visit to Maluku was very important in building the spirit of nationalism and bringing harmony to the nation's children who have killed one another over the years.
