Budisatrio and Gus Ipul Open National Karang Taruna Board Retreat
The National Board of Karang Taruna (PNKT) is holding a Training of Trainers (ToT) and retreat at Eco Edu Forest, Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java. Running until 2 August, the event serves as a platform for capacity building, aligning organisational vision, and fostering solidarity among officials from central to regional levels.
The programme also includes social service initiatives, such as donating school supplies to students at SDN Karangtengah 5 in Babakan Madang District and distributing clean water to local residents.
Agus Maimun, the Committee Chairman, stated that the retreat is designed to synchronise the steps and direction of all Karang Taruna officials. In addition to organisational training, participants will engage in outbound activities to strengthen camaraderie. “The ultimate goal of this retreat is to ensure all officials are unified, possessing the same movement and direction in managing the organisation,” Agus said in a written statement on Friday.
The retreat is attended by 107 national board members and 18 provincial-level Karang Taruna officials. Over the three-day period, participants will receive material from various speakers representing different ministries to enhance leadership and organisational management skills.
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, who attended the opening, expressed his appreciation for the National Board of Karang Taruna’s systematic approach to organisational consolidation. He noted that the retreat and Training of Trainers are strategic steps to strengthen leadership down to the regional level. “This retreat and Training of Trainers will serve as the commander, compass, and leader of the national consolidation movement,” said Gus Ipul.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the National Board of Karang Taruna, Budisatrio Djiwandono, stated that the retreat is part of an effort to improve the quality of Karang Taruna’s human resources. He expressed hope that all participants would return to their respective regions with renewed spirit to develop the organisation and increase community service. “We hope that upon returning to their regions, colleagues will bring a new spirit and be able to deliver a real impact to the community,” said Budisatrio.
The event was also attended by the Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of MSMEs, M. Riza Adam Damanik; Senior Mediator from the Directorate General of Industrial Relations and Social Security at the Ministry of Manpower, Mujahidah Fauzi Islam; and the Director of Community Empowerment at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Andrianus Alla, alongside members of the National Board of Karang Taruna.
