Budi Luhur University Lecturer Reported for Alleged Sexual Harassment of Female Student
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A lecturer at Budi Luhur University, Y (48), has been reported to Metro Jaya Police for the alleged sexual harassment of a female student by one of its alumnae, A (24). A’s report is registered under number LP/B/2611/IV/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated 14 April 2026. A hopes that through this report, she will obtain justice for herself and other victims, and prevent similar cases from arising. Her legal representative, Pahala Manurung, stated that the report was filed after a summons issued to the perpetrator and the university went unanswered. “We have issued a summons, I asked him to come to my office. I even gave him my phone number, but no one has come until now,” he said when contacted separately. Pahala added that four victims had come to him regarding similar cases from several years ago. Like A, the other three female victims also experienced harassment in verbal and non-verbal forms. “It turns out there is more than one or two victims. More have come to me, now there are four. All of them are already alumni,” he said. Separately, the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, confirmed the existence of the report. “It is true that the report has been received at the SPKT of Metro Jaya Police, with the suspect initialled Dr. Y,” Budi said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Wednesday. In response to this report, investigators are currently conducting a thorough investigation. “The handling is recommended to the Ditreskrimum Subdit Renakta or the PPA & PPO Reserse unit according to the type of sexual violence case,” Budi added. It is known that A claims to have been a victim of harassment by a lecturer at her campus in 2021.
