Budi Arie of Projo Visits Jokowi's Home: Eid Greetings
General Chairman of Projo, Budi Arie Setiadi, was seen visiting the residence of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo at Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Kelurahan Sumber, Kecamatan Banjarsari, Solo, Central Java, on Wednesday, 25 March 2026. His visit occurred amid the busy flow of public visitors crowding Jokowi’s home during this year’s Eid celebrations.
Jokowi’s residence has indeed been filled with visitors since he returned from Jakarta on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. Since morning, residents from various regions have continuously arrived, willing to queue to meet the host directly and take photos. Jokowi even briefly stepped out of the house to greet the guests present.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Jokowi, Budi Arie stressed that his visit was purely for Eid greetings.
“Yes, this is the Eid al-Fitr atmosphere; we are socialising because Father has just returned from Jakarta, so we are given the opportunity to connect. On this good day, we also mutually convey minal aidzin wal faizin, forgiveness in body and soul,” he said.
When asked if there was any special discussion, he assured that there was no specific agenda in the meeting. “No. No special event, no politics,” he said briefly.
On that occasion, Budi Arie Setiadi also delivered a national message by inviting the public to maintain unity. “Keep the spirit to preserve unity, advance Indonesia, empower and prosper the people,” he stated.
He also responded to the narrative describing Jokowi’s home as the “Wailing Wall of Solo”. According to him, Joko Widodo’s residence actually reflects the leader’s openness to the people.
“Ah, no, don’t be too negative. This is part of Pak Jokowi as a leader of the people. Until now, he can still be accessed by the people. That should be viewed positively,” he explained.
Furthermore, he affirmed that Projo volunteers would continue to support Jokowi’s future decisions. “We support whatever decision Pak Jokowi makes. Our stance is always to follow his guidance,” he said.
Jokowi’s High School Alumni Friends
Amid the busy visits, a group of alumni from SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta also appeared to connect for Eid. One representative, Sigit Haryanto, said the visit was a direct invitation from Jokowi.
“Our group consists of about 20 people. We were invited by him when we met at a communal meal event on 1 Sura earlier. Then we were invited for this halal bihalal greetings,” he said.
He described the meeting as a moment to strengthen friendship ties from school days. Jokowi, he said, even personally scheduled the audience time in a warm and familial atmosphere.
On that occasion, Sigit and the group also offered prayers for Joko Widodo to always be granted health. “We pray for him to always be healthy and recover soon from illness,” he stated.
