JAKARTA - The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, has explained the procurement of video conferencing services (Zoom meetings) worth Rp 5.7 billion for the period April to December 2026.

The BGN’s budget for procuring online meeting application licences has drawn public attention due to the staggering figure of Rp 5.7 billion, or approximately Rp 633 million per package.

“The service is prepared to support the implementation of the free nutritious meals programme, which requires extensive coordination, uniform delivery of technical guidance, and education to various stakeholders at central and regional levels,” Dadan explained in an official statement on Friday (24/4/2026).

Its capacity is around 5,000 active users and the ability to accommodate up to 50,000 participants in a single virtual meeting session.

Dadan stated that the service is used by the entire BGN organisational structure, from high-level executives (equivalent to echelon I), mid-level executives (equivalent to echelon II), administrative officials (equivalent to echelon III), to heads of Regional Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in the regions.

With such substantial capacity support, Dadan said, they can reach tens of thousands of participants at once.

“We want to ensure that messages, directives, and implementation guidelines for the programme are received intact by implementers in various regions. This need is part of the work system to maintain the quality of programme implementation,” he said.

It also pertains to BGN’s ability to ensure that all implementers understand the same directives, guidelines, and implementation standards.

Therefore, digital communication tools with large capacity are required to maintain information alignment across all levels of programme implementation.

“In situations like this, rapid, simultaneous, and documented coordination becomes an important part of the programme’s success,” he stated.
