Budget Committee and Head of National Nutrition Agency Meet at DPR to Discuss Implementation of Free Nutritious Meals Programme
The DPR RI’s Budget Committee (Banggar) held a meeting with the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 6 April 2026. Banggar Chairman Said Abdullah stated that the meeting focused on the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. “It was a forum for sharing information with the Head of BGN and his deputy. We wanted to know how far the MBG programme has been implemented,” Said told reporters at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta. During the meeting, BGN Head Dadan Hindayana reported that 26,000 SPPG units have already been established to support the MBG programme. Nevertheless, Said acknowledged that there are still several obstacles in implementing the MBG programme. However, he said, BGN is committed to improving its governance. “Indeed, it must be acknowledged that in its realisation, there are obstacles as we all know. And the Head of BGN has a commitment to resolve aspects of governance enforcement,” he said. “Even the Head of BGN conveyed that many coordinate points have been revoked, and some have been suspended because they did not implement the SOP as they should,” he added. In addition, the meeting discussed the current fiscal conditions facing the government. Said emphasised that Banggar DPR and BGN agreed to sharpen budget priorities. “Let’s share together, carry out sharpening of priorities, and alhamdulillah, BGN also made a real contribution by sharpening up to Rp20 trillion,” Said concluded.
