YOGYAKARTA: Jazz lovers will be flattered this weekend at Santika
Jogja as the hotel is offering a Jazz Sunday Brunch with noted
jazz pianist Bubi Chen who will present a collaborative work with
Five N Band.
Among the songs to be presented at the program that will be
held on Jan. 30 at Santika's Pandan Sari Restaurant from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. are Dona Lee, Take Five, It don't Mean a Thing, All of
Me, You've Got a Friend, and Fly Me to The Moon.
With brunch offered at Rp 65,000++ per person, the program
also offers various menu items including Grilled Salmon, Chicken
Cordon Bleu, Beef in Black Pepper Sauce, Roast Beef in Puff
Pastry, and Prawn Soup with Tofu.
Chinese-Indonesian pianist Bubi Chen, who was named one of the
world's 10 best pianists in 1997 and received the title Pearl
From The East, is also scheduled to perform at Graha Santika
Semarang hotel's Amarta Lobby Lounge on Jan. 31, 2005. --JP

Novotel presents 'Barongsai' dance
YOGYAKARTA: In observance of the 2556 Chinese New Year or Imlek
as it is popularly called, which will fall on Feb. 9, Novotel
Yogyakarta hotel is offering a Chinese food promotion under the
central theme of Light of China on Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, 2005.
To enliven the program, the hotel will also present Barongsai
or Chinese lion dance at the hotel lobby on Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. by
Budi Abadi Barongsai dance group that will present some 10 of its
best dancers and musicians.
At Rp 90,000 net per person, the program will present various
menu items at the hotel's Kedaton Restaurant.
"Our waiters and waitresses as well as other staff at the
hotel will also dress in Chinese costumes dominated by the color
red," said the hotel public relations manager Erny Kusmastuti,
expressing optimism that the hotel's occupancy rate during the
Imlek celebration, as in previous years, would reach up to over
