Two students get UK Award
JAKARTA: British Council and MTVSky 101.6 FM radio station
have awarded two Indonesian students with a two-week trip to
London for winning the real UK video competition.
Mira Sumanti of state senior high school SMUN 8 and Irvandi
Trisnabudi from St. Theresia senior high school, both in Jakarta,
will join their peers from 15 countries in London, the British
Council said in a statement on Monday.
The two students defeated 10 other Indonesian finalists in the
video competition, which required them to express their hopes,
ideals and their view of education in the UK in a videotaped,
three-minute presentation.
The two winners will depart on March 13, with the visit
including trips to Buckingham Palace, universities, fashion shows
and soccer matches. --JP
