BTS to Transform GBK into 360-Degree ARMY Sea, Details Revealed
Promoter iMe Indonesia has disclosed details of BTS’ World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ concert in Jakarta last week. The group’s members—RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—are set to transform the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK) into a 360-degree concert experience, allowing audiences to surround the stage from all angles. BTS’ return to Indonesia on 26-27 December 2026 is expected to be one of the largest concerts ever held in the country. The promoter stated the concert production will feature a large-scale 360-degree stage designed to bridge the gap between artists and fans. iMe Indonesia confirmed the entire stadium will be designed to ensure optimal viewing experiences for spectators from all angles. ‘Every seat will feel closer to BTS on stage, turning the entire venue into a unified sea of ARMY,’ the promoter stated in a press release to CNBC Indonesia on Friday, 29 May 2026. The concert is part of BTS’ World Tour ‘ARIRANG’, touted as the largest in the group’s career and potentially the biggest K-Pop tour ever. The tour will comprise nearly 85 shows across 34 global regions from 2026 to 2027. Indonesia is one of the Asian countries selected by BTS following Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Jakarta is the sole Indonesian city on the global tour schedule. This concert marks BTS’ first full-group performance since the successful Permission to Dance on Stage tour, which sold out 12 shows in Seoul, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas several years ago. BTS ARIRANG Jakarta Ticketing Details For tickets, promoter iMe Indonesia will open ARMY Membership presales on 9 June 2026, with general sales starting on 11 June via tiket.com. Global ARMY Members must register for presale via Weverse between 22-27 May to access the ticket queue. Ticket prices for the Jakarta concert range from Rp1.8 million to Rp4.5 million for the VIP Package. All categories use numbered seating, with no standing festival areas. VIP categories include additional perks such as soundcheck access, VIP laminate and lanyard, posters, gift sets, and dedicated lanes for official merchandise purchases. Ticket Rush Enthusiasm Fan enthusiasm for BTS and ARMY in Indonesia has already surfaced well before official ticket sales begin. According to CNBC Indonesia’s monitoring across social media platforms including X, TikTok, Threads, and Instagram, the topic of ‘ticket rush’ for BTS’ World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ in Jakarta has been a hot topic in recent days. Many fans are sharing guides and strategies for purchasing tickets, including ARMY Membership presale registration procedures, online queuing tips, and ticket-buying simulations to increase their chances of securing seats. Moreover, ticket booking services (jastip) are emerging, with some providers already opening registrations via Google Forms to secure ticket slots for prospective attendees. Various reasons drive some ARMY members to use ticket booking services, including lack of time due to work or family commitments, while others opt for such services due to concerns about missing out on tickets from limited experience in large-scale ticket rushes. The phenomenon has also impacted internet cafe (warnet) businesses, with several Jakarta operators reporting their computer slots are fully booked for the dates of the ARMY Membership presale and general onsale of BTS’ World Tour ‘ARIRANG’ in Jakarta. This enthusiasm stems from high fan interest in seeing BTS perform live. The concert marks the group’s first full performance in Indonesia since members completed their mandatory military service and resumed activities as a group.
