JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Chief Executive Officer of Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), Iwan Takwin, has offered a preview regarding the K-pop group BTS’s planned concert in Jakarta. He said the event could potentially feature a brand-new stage concept, unlike previous shows. According to Iwan, the BTS promoter has held several meetings with the stadium management team to discuss various technical aspects of staging the concert in Jakarta. ‘In fact, the promoter organising the BTS concert has had several meetings with us, with the JIS technical team as well as on procedures,’ Iwan said when approached near Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Central Jakarta, on Saturday 7 March 2026. He explained that BTS management in South Korea has also requested a range of technical data relating to the stadium that could serve as a venue. ‘So they will present a stage that is truly new in their world of concerts,’ he said. He added that the stage concept carries a substantial burden, necessitating a strong stadium structure. Consequently, BTS management is said to pay close attention to the venue’s construction, especially the infield. ‘This is what requires a more robust structure, and they are really concerned with the construction of the venue itself, particularly the infield,’ he explained. At present, two stadiums are under consideration as concert venues: Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK). Nevertheless, Iwan emphasised that there has been no final decision on which stadium will be used. ‘What we have submitted includes all the technical data they require; lighting and other details have been submitted. The information will be communicated after April,’ he said. He added that BTS management is also monitoring fan enthusiasm in Jakarta before making a decision on staging the concert.
