BTN: Social Bond Issuance Oversubscribed 2.9 Times, Reaching Rp2.9 Trillion
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk has revealed that its social-oriented bond issuance recorded total orders of Rp2.9 trillion during the bookbuilding period from 1–14 September 2026, representing an oversubscription of 2.9 times the initial target of Rp1 trillion.
According to the company, the high indication of demand for the Bank BTN Stage II Year 2026 Sustainable Social Bonds demonstrates strong investor interest in bonds issued by BTN.
President Director of BTN, Nixon L.P. Napitupulu, stated in Jakarta on Friday that high investor interest reflects confidence in BTN and an increasing focus on financing instruments that provide social benefits. This positive response has prompted the company to set the final issuance size at Rp2 trillion.
“For us, this positive response not only reflects investor confidence in BTN but also shows the growing importance of financing that delivers social impact to the community,” said Nixon.
The bonds are issued in two series: Series A amounting to Rp950 billion with a 370-day tenor, and Series B amounting to Rp1.05 trillion with a 3-year tenor. The bonds offer a coupon of 7.05 per cent for the 370-day tenor and 7.25 per cent for the 3-year tenor.
Nixon noted that the social bond issuance aligns with BTN’s sustainability vision, as outlined in the company’s long-term roadmap. Through this issuance, the company continues to promote the application of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in its business activities.
The funds obtained from the social bond issuance will be directed towards financing various projects with significant social impact. These projects include providing affordable housing for low-income communities (MBR), supporting the development of basic infrastructure for public housing, the MSME sector, and various other programmes that contribute to job creation and the strengthening of community economic activities.
“This social bond is part of BTN’s journey in building a business that is not only growth-oriented but also creates broader benefits for society,” said Nixon. Through the funds raised, he added, the company aims to ensure that the financing provided contributes to housing access, economic inclusion, and the sustainable improvement of community welfare.
Following the bookbuilding process, BTN targets the issuance date and receipt of funds for 6 October 2026. This issuance is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen its funding sources while supporting the distribution of financing that provides social benefits to the community and national development.
