BTN Sends Aid to Residents Affected by Sade Traditional Village Fire

PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has moved quickly to assist communities affected by a fire in Sade Traditional Village, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The company distributed various basic necessities to around 320 residents from three hamlets impacted by the disaster.

The fire affected 167 building assets, including 75 traditional houses, 69 art shops, eight rice barns (lumbung alang), several berugak structures, as well as public facilities and traditional buildings. The fire also damaged various artistic equipment, heirlooms, and cultural heritage belonging to the Sade Traditional Village community.

Supported by Danantara Indonesia, the disaster response was carried out in the spirit of gotong royong and collaboration among state-owned enterprises, with aid coordinated through a disaster management post.

BTN Corporate Secretary Ramon Armando said the collaboration reflects the strength of the SOE ecosystem to be present together and respond quickly to community needs when disasters occur.

“We are deeply concerned about the misfortune experienced by the Sade Traditional Village community. In situations like this, collaboration is essential so that aid can arrive promptly and meet the needs of affected residents. Together with Danantara and other SOEs, we hope the support provided can help ease the burden on residents while supporting the post-fire recovery process,” said Ramon.

As part of the collaboration, BTN distributed various basic community necessities, including bedding, drinking water, food supplies, as well as worship equipment and daily necessities. Meanwhile, other SOEs provided support according to disaster management needs, ranging from staple food packages and bedding to supplies for women and infants.

The BTN assistance was handed over by BTN Mataram Branch Manager Hendra Jaya Putra together with Operation Manager Maman Sagita to Rembitan Village Head Lalu Minaksa at the KMDP Rembitan post, Central Lombok, on Monday (24/8).

According to Ramon, the recovery of Sade Traditional Village is of great significance because the fire not only affected housing but also the economic activities and social and cultural assets of the local community.

“Sade Traditional Village is part of the life and cultural heritage of the Sasak people. We hope that through this spirit of gotong royong, the community can quickly recover, social and economic activities can resume, and the Sade Traditional Village area can gradually be restored,” said Ramon.
