Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, or BTN, has announced a property auction to broaden public access to homeownership. SEVP of Assets Management at BTN, Benjamen Sihombing, said the trend for second-hand houses and auction assets is increasingly popular due to more affordable prices in developed areas with comprehensive facilities. “Through the BTN Big Auction 2026, we aim to provide wider access for the public to own competitively priced homes while strengthening a healthier, more transparent, and accessible second-hand property transaction ecosystem in Indonesia,” he said in Jakarta on Monday. BTN is set to flood the national property market with 10,000 pre-owned homes through the auction program, offering tens of thousands of properties at prices up to 40% below market value. It also provides second-hand home financing schemes with interest rates starting at 5% to expand public access to housing ownership and property investment, while supporting the 3 Million Homes Programme. According to Benjamen, the assets include standalone houses, apartments, shophouses, and other commercial properties, located across Jabodetabek, Java, and beyond. He added that most assets are in areas with existing infrastructure, public facilities, and established residential environments. “BTN aims for a 35% auction success rate in 2026, after achieving the highest transaction rate among Himbara banks in 2025 with a 34.4% realisation,” he said.
