The President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, or BTN, Nixon LP Napitupulu, revealed that the performance of Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) continues to grow well. This is evident from the positive growth in both BSN’s profits and business operations.

“As you can see, BSN’s profit has grown quite well, as previously mentioned. Its business is also growing steadily. From the cost of fund perspective, they are even performing better than their parent company,” Nixon stated during the Public Exogse Live 2026 in Jakarta on Thursday (10/09/2026).

Nixon noted that BSN’s cost of fund stands at the 2.7 per cent level. Meanwhile, the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio for BSN remains below 3 per cent. “They are at 2.7 per cent. From the NPL side, they are also performing quite well, with NPLs below 3 per cent,” said Nixon.

Furthermore, Nixon continued, the quality of financing in the Sharia segment is also relatively more disciplined compared to the non-Sharia segment. “The Sharia segment, particularly in the lower tier, has proven to be much more disciplined than the non-Sharia segment. We have actually observed this for a long time,” he revealed.

According to Nixon, the separation of BTN’s Sharia Business Unit (UUS) into BSN provides the bank with the flexibility to develop a broader range of products. “We also believe that this spin-off will provide them with the freedom to create an even wider array of products,” Nixon added.

Based on performance as of June 2026, BSN’s total assets grew by 20.1 per cent year-on-year to Rp 78.8 trillion, exceeding the first-semester target with an achievement of 100.8 per cent. For 2026, BSN targets assets of approximately Rp 87 trillion, financing of Rp 66 trillion, and third-party funds (DPK) of Rp 69 trillion.
