Jakarta — PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. (BTN) booked significant net profit growth through May 2026, driven by the business transformation being undertaken by the company. Based on its monthly financial report up to May 2026, BTN recorded a net profit of Rp1.85 trillion, an increase of 54.37% year-on-year (yoy). BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu said this achievement demonstrates that the company’s transformation has strengthened its business fundamentals while maintaining growth momentum amid challenges in the banking industry. “The transformation we are carrying out is starting to yield tangible results, especially with the full support of the Danantara ecosystem,” Nixon said in a written statement. Net Interest Income (NII) rose 15.15% yoy to Rp7.13 trillion from Rp6.19 trillion in the same period the previous year. In terms of intermediation, BTN’s total loans and financing reached Rp403.06 trillion through May 2026, growing 9.97% yoy compared to Rp366.52 trillion in May 2025. Meanwhile, third-party funds (DPK) were recorded at Rp433.95 trillion, up 9.09% yoy from Rp397.78 trillion. The company also recorded an increase in operational profitability. Consolidated operating profit reached Rp2.39 trillion, an increase of 58.37% yoy compared to Rp1.51 trillion in the same period last year. BTN Group’s pre-provision operating profit (PPOP) grew 20.07% yoy to Rp3.98 trillion. BTN noted that this performance was above the national banking industry average. According to data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the net profit of national commercial banks through May 2026 grew by 4.96% yoy, while BTN’s consolidated net profit increased by 54.37% yoy. BTN stated it will continue to accelerate its business transformation by simplifying business processes, strengthening governance, modernising information technology infrastructure, accelerating service digitalisation, and optimising synergies within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem. According to Nixon, BTN’s transformation into a ‘beyond mortgage’ bank is a strategic step to expand sources of growth while delivering more relevant financial services to the public. “BTN is no longer solely focused on housing finance. We continue to expand our role as a bank that accompanies the public’s financial needs at every stage of life, from realising home ownership, supporting various lifestyle needs, to preparing for retirement,” Nixon said.
