PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) recorded net profit growth of 281.9 per cent year-on-year to reach 503 billion rupiah (bank only) as of February 2026, supported by positive growth in interest income.

“We are optimistic that this year’s performance will continue to grow alongside the transformation and innovation undertaken by the company to strengthen business and improve services to the public,” said BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.

The company recorded interest income during the period growing 11.7 per cent year-on-year, reaching 4.59 trillion rupiah. On the other hand, interest expense was successfully reduced to 2.19 trillion rupiah or down 14.4 per cent year-on-year.

This development drove net interest income, which increased significantly by 54.7 per cent year-on-year from 1.55 trillion rupiah in February 2025 to 2.39 trillion rupiah in February 2026.

From an operational perspective, BTN also recorded operating profit of 636 billion rupiah, up 219.3 per cent year-on-year compared to February 2025 which was 199 billion rupiah.

This increase, according to the company, reflects the effectiveness of the strategy in managing costs and strengthening business fundamentals.

In terms of intermediation, by February 2026, BTN’s credit disbursement reached 341.16 trillion rupiah or grew 8.6 per cent year-on-year compared to the same period last year of 314.09 trillion rupiah.

The increase in credit disbursement, the company noted, also drove an increase in the company’s interest income at the beginning of this year.

Meanwhile, from a funding perspective, BTN’s customer funds also recorded positive growth with a position of 375.28 trillion rupiah or increased 13.2 per cent year-on-year compared to February 2025 which was 331.63 trillion rupiah.

In line with credit growth and the collection of public funds, BTN’s total assets recorded an increase of 12.2 per cent year-on-year to 459.29 trillion rupiah in February 2026, compared to the position in February 2025 of 409.36 trillion rupiah.

The company stated that this growth reflects increasingly strong business fundamentals amid rising economic activity.
