BTN Housingpreneur Builds Innovative Housing Ecosystem
From advanced technology and eco-friendly designs to accessible housing for all, this is what BTN Housingpreneur 2025 brings. It is a programme initiated by PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. Carrying the theme “Housing for Nation: Smart, Green, Inclusive”, this theme represents collective efforts to create an innovative housing ecosystem that is environmentally friendly, technology-based, and accessible to all levels of society. It is undeniable that amid the development of the housing sector, innovation is key to driving better quality homes. Not only focusing on physical construction such as materials and home concepts, innovation now also targets various aspects that support overall home comfort and security. Therefore, it is no surprise that BTN includes House Technology Innovation as one of the categories in BTN Housingpreneur. In this category, Train-O and Rumah Gokils succeeded in capturing attention and receiving appreciation for their innovations. Pest Control and Cleanliness Solutions Housing issues do not stop at the construction stage. Homes as residences also face various concrete problems, from environmental quality and cleanliness to pest disturbances that are often considered trivial but can have a significant impact if not handled properly. Addressing these challenges, Rumah Gokils emerges as an innovation in home maintenance, offering integrated pest control and cleanliness solutions. Adhitya Chandra, Founder of Rumah Gokils, explained that the emergence of Rumah Gokils stemmed from his observations of countries like Japan, where awareness of pest dangers is very high. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, losses due to pests like termites can reach trillions of rupiah every year. “The losses are not only economic but also health-related, such as diseases like dengue fever, malaria, and leptospirosis. From there, I saw that the need is great, but the players are still few, so the opportunities are still very wide,” said the man often called Adhit. Rumah Gokils introduces Goodkills, which is not just pest control management but a modern home protection system. Through this system, it not only provides pest control from termites, cockroaches, ants, rats, and other pests. But it also offers cleaning services, both in the form of services and maintenance programmes. “Because we combine these two services, we bring the concept of property care. That means we do not only focus on pests or cleanliness alone, but we can also handle overall building maintenance,” he said. Rumah Gokils operates with the one health concept, namely the interconnection between human health, animal health, and the environment. According to him, a condition that appears clean is not necessarily completely healthy if pests are still present. Conversely, pest control will not be optimal without supported by good cleanliness. “So they are interconnected, and we try to combine them so that the handling is more comprehensive,” he said. Rumah Gokils also brings a preventive urban risk management approach through the integrated urban pest protection concept, namely comprehensive handling that not only focuses on pest control but also includes environmental cleanliness up to repairing pest entry routes through minor renovations. This approach allows problems to be addressed from the root, not just on the surface. Rumah Gokils’ programme educates the public about health threats in housing that originate from inside the home. Dok. BTN Rumah Gokils also applies environmentally friendly and safe methods for humans and pets without reducing control effectiveness. This service is also supported by a preventive subscription-based system with periodic monitoring, so pest control is no longer reactive but becomes part of long-term home health protection. Operationally, Rumah Gokils ensures every service runs in a standardised, documented, and auditable manner, in line with Ministry of Health regulations. Not only that, the company also provides service guarantees up to five years and payment flexibility for pre- and post-construction needs, to support developers, homeowners, and property managers. In practice, Rumah Gokils collaborates with a German company as an insecticide supplier. Adhit explained that insecticides are divided into several spectra from highly toxic to safer ones. “We use materials that have been adjusted to needs and standards for homes. Their use also depends on field conditions, for example, for homes or kitchen areas, they must be safer because they relate to food,” he said. Established in 2020, Rumah Gokils was founded by Adhit along with his partner, Deny Kristanto Yudianto, with capital of around Rp 4 million. These funds were used to introduce Rumah Gokils through voluntary cleaning activities at various places of worship, such as prayer rooms, mosques, and churches. “From there, we started to be noticed by companies and trusted to handle their projects. Through word of mouth, projects started coming in. That became one of the most memorable moments in our journey,” he said. In the early stages, Rumah Gokils’ customers were dominated by companies, given the need to meet standards like ISO, HACCP, or GMP which require pest control services. However, along with the education efforts carried out, household sector users are now increasing. People interested in using the service
