BTN: Housing Program Credit Disbursement Reaches Rp7.4 Trillion Since Launch
PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) has disbursed a cumulative total of Rp7.4 trillion in Housing Program Credit (KPP) since the programme’s launch, consisting of Rp5.4 trillion for the supply side and Rp2.0 trillion for the demand side.
According to the company, these two schemes ensure that financing reaches both the housing provision sector and productive communities in need of housing finance support.
“We have collaborated extensively with MSMEs, including developers, building material stores, and contractors (supply side distribution). Additionally, we have several existing customers who are entrepreneurs on the KPP demand side,” said BTN Corporate Banking Director Helmy Afrisa following a KPP Socialisation event at Menara BTN, Jakarta, on Friday.
For reference, KPP supply can be utilised by developers, contractors, and building material traders with a credit ceiling of up to Rp5 billion. Meanwhile, KPP demand provides financing of up to Rp500 million for individual MSMEs to purchase, build, or renovate houses to support business activities.
Helmy noted that the potential for KPP growth remains vast. In the Jakarta and surrounding areas, BTN recorded 353 enquiries with a total ceiling of Rp424.944 billion, comprising 57 KPP supply enquiries worth Rp288.970 billion and 296 KPP demand enquiries worth Rp135.974 billion.
He stated that the high level of interest demonstrates that the need for housing finance comes from various sectors. The company will continue to strengthen collaborations with the government, developers, contractors, building material stores, and MSME players to ensure the benefits of KPP reach more people.
Helmy added that strengthening KPP is part of BTN’s efforts to leverage the housing ecosystem built by the company to create a broader economic impact.
“For productive communities, a house is not just a place to live, but can also serve as a place of business and an asset that supports increased family income. Therefore, we want housing finance to contribute to creating business activities, increasing productivity, and driving community welfare,” said Helmy.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, appreciated the implementation of KPP, which is seen as an instrument to encourage MSMEs within the housing ecosystem to advance their business scale.
“The benefits of this programme are extraordinary. From the supply side, the interest subsidy is very helpful. Hopefully, as intended, MSMEs—whether contractors, developers, or building material stores—can move up to the next level,” he said.
Maruarar noted that although KPP is relatively new, the response to the programme has been very positive. High absorption rates have driven an increase in the national KPP quota from Rp36 trillion to Rp50 trillion. He specifically highlighted BTN’s position in KPP supply distribution.
“The programme may be new, not yet a year old, but the response has been very positive. Absorption is very high, which is why the quota was increased from Rp36 trillion to Rp50 trillion. On the supply side, BTN is the highest,” said Maruarar.
